2. Purpose and scope
These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the website of Joyful Lizard, Lda., hereinafter referred to as “Joyful Lizard”.
The website provides institutional information and access to content relating to the following areas of activity:
• education and training;
• tourist accommodation;
• property rental;
• other services developed or promoted by Joyful Lizard.
Use of the website implies that the user has read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Users who do not agree with their content must refrain from using the website.
3. Nature of the information provided
The information presented on the website is general and institutional in nature. Joyful Lizard endeavours to ensure that its content is accurate, clear and up to date, but does not guarantee that it will at all times be free from errors, omissions or outdated information.
Any descriptions, photographs, property features, availability, prices or other commercial information displayed do not, in themselves, constitute a binding contractual offer.
Joyful Lizard may correct or update the content of the website at any time.
4. Enquiries and bookings
Submitting an enquiry, expression of interest or booking request through the contact details or links provided on the website does not guarantee the availability of any property or service and does not automatically result in the conclusion of a contract.
A contract shall only be deemed concluded when one of the following has occurred:
• written confirmation from Joyful Lizard;
• acceptance of a proposal or contract;
• confirmation issued by a booking platform;
• another procedure expressly communicated to the user.
The specific terms of the service, including price, duration, payments, security deposit, cancellation, number of occupants, rules of use, inventory and the parties’ other obligations, will be communicated before the contract is concluded or set out in the relevant contract or booking confirmation.
5. Contracting through external platforms
Some properties or services may be advertised or booked through external platforms, including accommodation, temporary rental or booking platforms.
Where a booking or contract is made through such a platform, the terms and conditions and the payment, cancellation, refund, damage protection and dispute resolution policies established by that platform shall also apply.
Joyful Lizard does not control the technical operation of those platforms and cannot be held liable for unavailability, errors or decisions solely attributable to their operators.
In the event of any inconsistency, the specific terms contained in the booking confirmation or contract shall prevail over the general information presented on this website.
6. Direct contracting
For services contracted directly with Joyful Lizard, the applicable terms are those set out in the proposal, quotation, booking confirmation, contract or other document provided to the client.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, an enquiry, availability request or preliminary exchange of messages does not constitute a confirmed booking.
Prices, taxes, payment terms, security deposits, additional charges and cancellation policies will be communicated before the contract is concluded.
7. Right of withdrawal and cancellation
For distance contracts concluded with consumers, the right of withdrawal applies in accordance with applicable law, without prejudice to the exceptions provided for by law.
In particular, the right of withdrawal may not apply to accommodation services for purposes other than residential purposes where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.
Property leases, including those intended for temporary accommodation, study, traineeships, professional mobility or another temporary purpose, are governed by the relevant contract and the applicable tenancy legislation.
The cancellation terms for each booking or service will be communicated before the contract is concluded. Where a booking is made through an external platform, that platform’s policies shall also apply.

The user undertakes to:
• use the website lawfully and responsibly;
• not introduce viruses, malicious software or other elements capable of impairing the operation of the website;
• not attempt to access areas, systems or information without authorisation;
• provide accurate and up-to-date information whenever contacting Joyful Lizard;
• respect the intellectual property rights and other rights of Joyful Lizard and third parties.
Any use of the website that may cause damage, disrupt its operation or adversely affect the rights and interests of third parties is prohibited.
9. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, the texts, images, photographs, graphic elements, logos, trade marks, structure and other content of the website belong to Joyful Lizard or are used with the authorisation of their respective owners.
The content may be viewed and reproduced strictly for private use. Any commercial use, public reproduction, distribution, alteration or reuse requires the prior written authorisation of Joyful Lizard or the relevant rights holder.

11. Availability and security
Joyful Lizard endeavours to ensure the regular and secure operation of the website but does not guarantee uninterrupted or permanently error-free access.
Access may be temporarily suspended for technical, maintenance, security or update purposes, or due to circumstances beyond Joyful Lizard’s control.
Joyful Lizard shall not be liable for loss or damage arising from access failures, disruptions to communications networks, malicious software or other events not attributable to it, without prejudice to any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties shall seek to resolve it through dialogue and an amicable settlement. If no settlement can be reached, the dispute shall be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction under the law, without prejudice to consumer rights and the possibility of using alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
16. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions
Joyful Lizard may amend these Terms and Conditions whenever necessary, including as a result of legislative or technical changes or changes to the services presented.
The applicable version is the version published on the website at the time it is consulted, without prejudice to contractual terms already agreed with clients or users.
